The Judas In You 2
Whose Word Is It Anyway?

Present your humanity to God and not make a god out of your humanity.

We make gods out of:

Feelings
Finances
Emotions
Situations and Circumstances
Health

Judas missed it. Instead of being able to be real with God and those around him, he created his own theology and lived it out.
_______________________________________________

Missed repentance. Missed accountability.

_______________________________________________

He created a predetermined outcome based on his own theology

The Bible NEVER said Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, would be the one to fulfill that prophecy. Instead, he qualified himself.

God predestines us for Good…

Romans 8:28-30
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Thats the only kind of predestination God is involved in – for good!

Chess pieces?
Chess master manipulates pieces on the board against his opponent towards victory. It is not an aimless manipulation with no end.
_______________________________________________

God does not manipulate he offers paths, that if we choose will have to end in good because He can not offer us a path that ends in destruction…

Fast car – I can choose to drive fast but ultimately getting into a high speed vehicle on a race track I am going to probably end up driving fast…

Not going to drive Miss Daisy in a Bugatti Veyron.

So he has predestined the river of life to flow towards LIFE. If we jump into the river we can only but end up in life…

Rather be predestined by a God that is out for my good than predestine myself by trying to make my word god…

“God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” (I John 1:5).

We create out own faulty predestination.

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Judas went about life looking for what he should believe in. Rather than believing in what he lived for.
Judas could have even begun to believe his own treacherous thoughts, his own made up belief structures so much that he even began to believe things like:
Jesus wants me to do this
As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” John 13:27
God has already pre programmed the whole situation and I have to play my part…
I am what I am…
I have always been like this and I don’t think I will change.
I can do this wrong thing, Jesus has it covered…
What difference do I make…
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God. Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. John 6:44-45
You didn’t will yourself to be saved. God didn’t choose you because you chose Him. He chose you because of grace and nothing else—it was nothing you deserved, but He did it anyway.

Judas got himself all mixed up that he could bring about the reality that he thought was best. He tried to pre determine the outcome of things…

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

WE DO NOT SEE – It’s not perfect vision… So why do we try to make our word God’s Word?

Hebrews 12:1-3 (ESV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Judas was living under the threat and the oppression (the cross).
He could not see the full picture because he would not allow Jesus to bring the picture into focus he tried to do it himself…

Jesus however is the beginning and the end…

He sees the situation (does not pre ordain it or create it) – your cross like situation. And he can see the end of it – Seated at the right hand of God…

Whose predestination do you trust?
What situation are you trying to manage that God should be managing with his Alpha and Omega Vision?
What word are you setting your life upon?
Are you trying to make His Word fit your situation or are you living the situation because you trust His word?
