Possessing outstanding quality or superior merit. 

Very good of its kind. 

To be better. (different or distinguished) 

Greek – To bear or carry through any place. To transport. 

1. Excellence is a means to an end. (Not THE end) 

1. Excellence is being & doing our best with what we have & know. (Human resources…) 

1. Excellence is consistently being & doing our best with what we have & know. (Not a one-off) 

1. Excellence is one way we carry the congregation to participate with Christ & His kingdom. (Transport) 

What Excellence Is Not 

1. It’s not legalism. 

• Legalism adds requirements for acceptance or righteousness with God. 

1. It’s not perfectionism. 

• A perfectionist is an unhealthy person making inner problems by complaining about outer environment.
