“THERE IS A SHIFT”
In the New Testament, there are at least 4 “Tectonic Plate” Shifts concerning the Believer and the Church:
- The birth of Jesus
- The death of Jesus
- Jesus’ ascension into heaven
- The birth of the Church
5 POINTS to the MESSAGE:

Territorial
#1 – STOP resisting the SHIFT
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 [NIV] “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
#2 – HELP others see the importance and necessity of the SHIFT
Philippians 2:4 [NLT] “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”
#3 – Intercede – Leadership needs your PRAYERS now more than ever
Hebrews 13:17 [NLT] “Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.”
1 Timothy 2:1-3 [NLT] “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior…”
1 Kings 3:8-9 [NIV] “Your servant is here among the people You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. 9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern Your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of Yours?”

#5 – TERRITORIAL
Proverbs 21:3 [NLT] “The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer Him sacrifices.”
There are 3 “Spirits” that fight against leadership during “Shifts” in ministry:
- Jezebel – likes to get close to THE leader (concerned about the individual)
- Absalom – “If I were the king I’d ___________.” (rallies people)
- Korah – “You’re not the only one who hears from God.” (rallies leaders)
