Bible

Peace

Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (TPT)

My peace is dependent on how I treat others…

As part of his body….

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12: 31

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

Ephesians 4:3

Spoud’azontes:   strive eagerly, earnestly

GOD IS CALLING YOU TO FIGHT FOR PEACE___________________________________________

  1. CONFRONT HUMBLY.

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar.  First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”   Matthew 5:23-24

WHO OR WHAT IS GOD ASKING YOU TO CONFRONT?

2. LOVE DEEPLY

“Above all, love each other deeply….”   1 Peter 4:8

Ekteino:   to stretch, extend

“Above all, love each other deeply , because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8

3. FORGIVE IRRATIONALLY.

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another….Colossians 3:13

“…Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

WHAT HAS HE FORGIVEN YOU?

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing…”

Luke 23:34

WHO MUST YOU FORGIVE?

WHO DO YOU NEED TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS?

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Romans 12:18

HEARING FROM GOD

Peace amplifies the voice of God.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

___________________________________________

We often say when making a decision “I have peace about it…”

___________________________________________

If you want the peace that goes beyond our understanding. That gives us wisdom…

1 Confront Humbly

2 Love deeply

3 Forgive irrationally

Positioned to hear from God.

Prayer:

LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath.”

Psalm 39:4-5 NLT
