Introduction

Psalm 105:1-5 (ESV)
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

Why do we celebrate Jubilee?

  1. Remember & Celebrate — thanking God for all this past year (Luke 17:11-19)
  2. Listen & Dream – hearing God for the next year (Genesis 22:9-12)

The Ten Lepers: Luke 17:11-19

Luke 17:14-19 (NLT)
He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you. Or Your faith has saved you.”

The miraculous is deepened when it is celebrated with thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Praise and thanksgiving ushers in the miraculous.

2 Chronicles 20:3-12, 15-30 (ESV)

Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV)
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
